January 2012 projects!

I thought I would share my latest creations with you! Some are Pinterest inspired but some are all me!

I found this idea on Pinterest! We haven't been using it because I haven't found the right place for it yet but we  will put it to use soon! To make this all you need is a 4x6 or 5x7 frame, printer, pretty paper/scrapbook paper, and a dry erase marker.

The past 5 months I have been on Pinterest and I have just been pinning things and not trying anything I had pinned so a couple weekends ago after the holidays were over and life had calmed down I decided to try some ideas! Being low on spending money I knew I had to get creative about what I was going to try so I picked this to start with! I remembered I had a few extra frames in the top of the office closet so I got those down and looked through them and what do ya know I had a 5x7 frame! Yay! Next I needed some pretty paper. Well I have lots of that, I used to be BIG into scrapbooking so I had tons of paper to pick from. And lastly I needed a dry erase marker. Guess what!! I had a whole pack of dry erase markers!!! I spent no money on this project, well technically I did but I had already had everything around the house.

Next project! This is my favorite! Jeremy and I attended a marriage retreat here in town I think in October or November and this was something special we read to each other at the end of the class. This is in the back of our workbooks for the retreat so I retyped it and printed it out on pretty paper! It's a reminder of what our roles are as husband and wife. I want to do a vowel renewal for our 10 year anniversary and I would love to use this for our ceremony! Why do I want to renew our vowels in 7 years? I have just always wanted to do that every 10 years. Before Jeremy even came along I have just wanted to make that a tradition with whoever I married! This project was also cheap! I had a 8x7 frame I wasn't using, picked out a pretty sheet of scrapbook paper out of my stash and cut out a pretty heart to fill in some empty space on the top!

Third project...Pinterest inspired! A UNC wreath! This project required some shopping. You need a wreath, letters, ribbon, paint, hot glue gun and a wooden basketball or any sport of your choice. I got all of my supplies at Hobby Lobby and most everything was on sale! I don't think I spend any more than $15. I thought this would be prefect for basketball season! Hubby loves it :).

This was all my idea! For a couple years now I have been trying to figure out what to do with greeting cards from Christmas/New Years or even baby announcements. What I did here was I stacked all of our cards from 2011 from smallest to largest then hole punched them. I purchased a pack of binder rings and put the cards on the rings! Now they are out on an end table in our living room for everyone to see! This is way better than just boxing them up now we can enjoy them!

Lastly, I made a yearly calendar! Pinterest inspired! What you do is date 365 index cards with the month an the day at the top of the card then write the year on the first line. Each day you write down something memorable from that day...a wedding or even just a move you watched! Your first year will be boring but the more yeas you add the better it gets. Wouldn't it be cool to look back to see what you were doing a year ago? I think so! What you need is a basket or a box, index cards, dividers (post cards or decorative paper), a pen and if you have them some dated stamps! I found my basket at Hobby Lobby and added some ribbon I already had to the front and the back handles!

You're more than welcome to use any of my ideas! If you have any questions just ask!!

We love our fur babies!!!

We have had amazing weather 3 days in a row! What do we do on pretty days? We take the doggies out in the field behind our house and we run, play fetch and enjoy the sun!! I LOVE to watch Hogan run. He's so pretty and graceful about it! He has loads of energy to let out so we try to get him out to run as much as we can. I feel so sorry for all the doggies in their back yards watching our doggies run around. It makes me want to let all of them loose to run free! We are fortunate enough to have two awesome dogs who listen and don't abuse their freedom of being off their leash so we can take them out and play often. Thought I would share some pictures with you!

Hogan loves his daddy and his daddy loves him!

My sissy got married!!!

This past weekend I got to attend/be in a wedding! My sister from another mister got married! Angela and I have known each other for as long as we can remember. We start way back as just buddies at church but then developed a sister like relationship many years ago. So hard to believe Angela and DJ's big day has come and gone. I was honored to be able to fly in for it but man was it a quick trip. I left last Thursday morning at 5am and got home at 9pm Sunday night. It was really nice to see family and church family! I surprised my mom in-law and I got to meet my sis in-laws new love in her life, Ronnie! He was a sweetheart and I know he makes her so happy which makes me happy!

Now onto Thursday night, it wasn't such a good night. A couple weeks ago Jeremy and I tried out Mongolian food at Genghis Grill and fell in love! And it was enough food for Jeremy! Anywho, so we went back for dinner last Wednesday (day before I left for WV) and something I ate didn't agree with me. I never really noticed anything stomach wise until I got off the plane, that's when my stomach started churning. It sounded like someone was doing a chemistry project in my tummy. I never really felt bad during the day just didn't have an apatite. I thought it was just nerves and excitement. So after my mom and I got done visiting with family that evening I got to my parents house and actually sat down and that's when the sick feeling began. (TIME OUT)

I made these cute sashes for Angela (the bride), Kerri and I to wear out Friday or during the getting ready process Saturday!

(TIME IN) I have NEVER felt this bad before and I didn't like it. By the end of the night all the food from the night before had come up and I had instant relief :(. I know, nasty. Must have been a touch of food poisoning.

I started my Friday that weekend very early, not feeling to great yet but I knew I had lots of things to do and people to see. I surprised the office I used to work in at Bluefield State!!!! I was sooooo excited to see these peps, I have missed them so so much. I surprised them with breakfast and we chatted for a good 2 hours while I waited on my ride to go decorate for the fun reception I attended Saturday night! Friday evening was rehearsal and rehearsal dinner then it ended with a fun girls night with the bride to be and Kerri the maid of honor! Below are some pictures from our fun night!

We had to do stick on nails because we ran out of time to get manis and pedis.

Saturday!!! Angela and DJ's big day!!! Hair at 7, makeup at 10, pictures at 12 and wedding at 2! Beautiful wedding ceremony! Angela and DJ decided to do the hands ceremony that Jeremy and I did! It's a very touching ceremony and brought back memories of my wedding day! Following the wedding was a spectacular reception! The food was amazing, decor was beautiful and getting to let loose and dance without a care in the world...priceless! I danced with my mommy and daddy both, fun memories! It was a rainy Saturday but it has been said that rain on your wedding day is good luck! Angela and DJ headed out of town around 6 or 6:30! Puerto Rico was their honeymoon destination, they spent and week in the sun having fun, just what they wanted and needed! It's so hard to believe that my sissy is married. I'm still not used to seeing Angela Belcher on my facebook but i'll get used to it! Oh and DJ is in the Army. Never in my wildest dreams did I see Angela and I as military spouses but I love having her by my side. We can now share this crazy life together! We're battle buddies! It would be amazing to be stationed with them on day!!!

Here's some pictures from the reception!

Saturday night I got to spend some much needed time with my family! My brother and his girlfriend, Carol came in for the night! It was so nice to just sit in the den by the people I love and have missed so much I just wish Jeremy would have been there with us.

Sunday I woke up to some yummy smells from the kitchen, breakfast! Nothing like mom and dads home cooked meals!!!

Although I enjoyed my quick trip and made lots of memories in 3 short days! I sure did miss that hubby of mine and our beautiful fur babies! Congrats Angela and DJ! I love you both and look forward to years to come full of memories!!!!

December....A.K.A - Busy month

I had all intentions to blog about the "25 days of Christmas" as we got to each day but I never dreamed this month long gift for hubby would make us so busy! I mean what was I thinking, we had something to do every single night! We made lots of new memories with this fun gift I put together for him. We enjoyed being back in our first house where we spent our first Christmas as a married couple. Why did I do "25 days of Christmas"?  Because I wanted this Christmas just like all the future holidays to be memorable and full of fun and love! When Jeremy got home from his deployment in June I realized we had a lot of making up to do, I mean think about it we lost a whole year. I was determined to make up for what we lost by making every big occasion and even weekends special and make sure there's no wasted time. Examples of wasted time; silly arguments, or not capturing special moments with my camera. I encourage you to live with the same mentality whether you have a year to make up for or not. I have always been a sentimental girl but I became even more sentimental and a "make the most of every minute you have" kind of person since facing a deployment. Now, time to discuss all 25 days!

This hung in our dinning room and every morning Jeremy woke up he had a card to read with a clue as to what we would be doing that evening. The activities included Christmas traditions we do, UNC game nights and date nights at home or out on the town!

Day 1

Relaxing night at home! We enjoyed some sparkling grape juice, chocolate covered pretzels and I gave Jeremy a nice massage!

Day 2

We spent the evening in Salado with Andy, Elizabeth and Indigo! Salado is a cute little town with adorable locally owned shops and at Christmas time they go big and decorate for the season!

Day 3

Tar Heel game day! Jeremy got a new UNC t-shirt and...

We spent the day at Sea World with Andy, Elizabeth and Indigo!
(More pictures from Sea World!)

Day 4

Christmas Tradition...We did our Gingerbread House!

Day 5

We cooked dinner together! We made breakfast!

Yummy!

Day 6

Tar Heel game day! We had pizza and Jeremy's favorite ice cream for dessert!

Day 7

We went out to shop for our ornaments we get each other every year but we just couldn't find anything we liked for one another. We found ourselves looking at snow globes at Hallmark and decided we had way too many ornaments already and we were going to start something new! So now we will pick out a new snow globe each year...until we think of something else to do haha!

Day 8

We did this on Day 9 because we had small group (bible study) this night and weren't able to do it on it's specific night.

Day 9

We enjoyed some yummy french vanilla hot chocolate, a nice dinner and watched Frosty the Snowman!

Day 10

Tar Heel game day! We had a halftime competition and played basketball with a trash can and a little basketball!

Day 11

We finally got our Christmas lights up! A little late but worth it! We enjoyed our little village!

Day 12

On day 12 we stuffed all the stockings!

Day 13

Date night at Mooyah!

We were supposed to stuff the animals stockings on this night but since we already had that done so we decided to have a night on the couch! It was much need because we were both exhausted and needed cuddle time! Jeremy even went out to get dinner so I didn't have to cook, yes two out to eat nights in a row =). And about the silly smiles, well Jeremy always does something silly so instead of begging him to take a good picture I played  along!

Day 15

We wrote each other love letters for our stockings! This was so sweet and fun to read Christmas morning!

Day 16

Jeremy really wanted the electronic battleship, I couldn't wait til he opened this!

Day 17

Tar Heel game day! We enjoyed some yummy pizza and milk and oreos! I thought the milk and oreos would be a fun game day activity, we dunked our oreos in milk while we watch the Tar Heels make some dunks!

Day 18

Movie night!! We went to see Arthur Christmas! Cute movie.

Day 19

Tar Heel game day! He got another new Tar Heel t-shirt!

Day 20

We built a fort in the living room! We played a fun card game and played with the animals, they had to join in on the fun!

Day 21

Game day again! Jeremy got new slippers!

Day 22

We made goodies for our neighbors!
