Me

Just a little about me!
The name is Martha, so nice of you to stop by!
I'm from a small town in WV. I remember as I was growing up I couldn't wait to get out of that small town and see the world! I wanted to move on to bigger and better things, well I made it to Texas! Everything's bigger in Texas right?! This is my home now, the first of many duty stations...duty stations? Yes, i'll explain later :). I miss my home town, my family, my church/church family, the beautiful mountains, the 4 seasons, our locally owned Dairy Queen, the 5 minute drive to Walmart, out of town shopping trips, cruising around town with my girlfriends and yummy McDonalds sweet tea. *Sweet tea isn't the same at all McDonalds :(.*

I love Jesus, I strive to know him more, serve him and share his word with everyone that crosses my path! I am not perfect. I fail and sin everyday but our gracious and merciful father loves me despite my flaws! Because of him I am forgiven! Remember, our God is good, sovereign and knowing!

I married the man of my dreams, Jeremy, in 2009! He is a US solider and I couldn't be more proud of him! Read more about us here!

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to travel the world, or just the US, wherever the army takes us. I see my husbands military career as God fulfilling on of my dreams! Although I hate being so far away from family there's just something about a new place and picking up and moving that excites me! I am a people person, a people pleaser, and I love to talk and tell my life story! We are currently stationed at Fort Hood. We enjoy all the area has to offer but we often feel like we're in a sardine can, there's s-o m-a-n-y p-e-o-p-l-e. I am ready for a new duty station, I thought we would move more often. I pray a lot that the Lord will give me a content heart and patients, when it's our time we will move! We will soon belong to our church and we attend an awesome small group bible study full of military couples that know our life! We are so thankful and feel so blessed for all the people God has put in our lives! This life is full of "see you laters" whether it's a deployment or a PCS (english = a move) and we dread coming up on another deployment or seeing a friend off. We know separation all too well as would most military couples but we love this life! 5 years down and 15 more to go til retirement! Army strong!!

Why do I write?
I started this blog so our families could keep up with us, yes we have facebook but I can elaborate some more here! I will continue to keep everyone posted on our life but I also want to start blogging more about my faith and deeper life experiences such as my hearts desire...where my blogs name came from!
Writing has become one of my hobbies! It's very cheap, haha! My hubby plays golf, softball and basketball but I like to write and of course shop!

What I hope you get from me!
One of my main goals for my new and improved blog is to encourage others to walk the walk and talk the talk! Do you spend time with the Lord? Do you talk to him? Do you ask him? Do you keep the faith and trust in his timing? I do! I live to learn more about our mighty savior! I want you to step away from my blog feeling encouraged, refreshed and spirit filled! I want this to be a place where I am real and you are real.

I will be writing about the everyday life of an imperfect christian girl, wifely duties, surviving the army life, homemaking skills, crafting, and my adorable fur babies!

My inspiration!
I have fallen I.N L.O.V.E with about 13 different blogs! I can't wait to get to my laptop in the mornings, curl up on the couch and read, read, read! Growing up I HATED to read but now i'm starting to really get into it! I highly recommend all the blogs I follow and also two of my favorite...so far...e-books! It's a tough job keeping up with so many blogs but not every blog is updated everyday or every morning. I start my day with the ones that are posted when I wake up and end my day with the ones that were posted later in the day! Some blogs are just updated weekly. I also started what I call "my life in 2012 notebook" so I could write down every single bible verse I come across or a quote I like! It's been great because I can refer back to something if I need to! It will be fun to look back on in years to come!
